Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering

 

The department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering was established in 1984. The department has its own specific Vision and Mission align with Vision and Mission of Institute. The department came out as an offspring of Electronics Engineering due to enormous development in field of Electronics and demand of Instrumentation Engineers in the city and its vicinity. Equipped with modern sophisticated instruments, it offers Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) and Master of Technology (M. Tech.) with specialization in Microelectronics and VLSI Design. The department is also a research center affiliated to RGPV Bhopal and offers Ph.D. under faculty of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. The B. Tech. program of the department is NBA accredited since July 2015. The department follows the OBE Philosophy for curriculum development and subsequent assessment and attainment of program outcomes.

The department has been one of the few Participating Institutes of Special Manpower Development Program (SMDP) in VLSI Design funded by MeitY, Govt. of India since its inception in 1999 till date. Under this funded project, department has received total grant of Rs. 310/- lakhs since 1999 and also received start of art EDA tools including Cadence, Synopsys, Siemens etc. Presently department is part of Chips-to-Startup (C2S) project under IIT Indore cluster which also includes the Institutes of National importance like IIT Jammu, ABV-IIITM Gwalior and IET-DAVV Indore.

Department has excellent research facilities especially in field of Microelectronics, VSLI and Semiconductor Device and Process modeling. The laboratories of the department are well equipped with state of art equipment and software. The library of the department has more than 440 books with 150 titles and PG-PhD thesis for reference. The department has a conference room and also Seminar room with seating capacity of 70 persons with audio-visual and internet/WiFi facility.

The department has excellent working environment which makes it ideal for academic, research and Social activities.
