Department of Information Technology came into existence in the year 2000. The first degree program offered by the Department was B.Tech. (IT). This program aims to prepare students to either pursue a professional carrier immediately after graduation or to continue with post graduate studies. Many student projects at final year are carried out in association with the industries. In 2019, M. Tech. (IT) program was initiated, which prepare students for research and development and gives better job opportunities. The curriculum of the courses is reviewed and revised regularly often involving suggestions from stake holders like student alumni, parents and employers. The department has well equipped laboratories for teaching learning and research. To equip the students for their bright future, they are sent for internship and motivated to do industry-oriented projects. Department has consistently fulfilled its role of producing IT technocrats ready to meet the demands of the IT world. The department has always attracted the best of engineering aspirants from all over the country. The department has smart classrooms and adequate facilities to support these teaching activities. Students of the department have access to sufficient high end computing facilities. Further, the department enrolls candidates for Ph.D. program and actively involved in research in many areas of IT and Computer Science.
