Central Wing

The Central Wing of the centre plays a vital and enriching role in the academic framework of the institute. It provides essential academic services to various departments by teaching a range of interdisciplinary subjects to B.Tech. students. In an institution where the primary focus and ethos revolve around science, engineering, technology, and management, the Central Wing brings a much-needed balance by integrating humanistic and social perspectives into technical education. The Wing holds a unique and distinctive position within the institute, as it bridges the gap between technical expertise and human understanding. The undergraduate courses offered by the Wing are carefully designed to broaden students’ intellectual horizons. These courses aim to familiarize students of science and technology with the broader social, cultural, economic, ethical, and humane concerns that underlie social change and development. To fulfill these objectives, the Central Wing runs a structured humanities syllabus that includes courses such as Understanding Bharat, Universal Human Values, Economics for Engineers, and Values, Humanities and Professional Ethics and Constitution of India.

These courses and academic initiatives, the Central Wing contributes significantly in preservation and conservation of bhartiya ethos in eduction system. The wing works through multidisciplinary research, training/workshop/expert session and education to ensure the all-round development of the Institute's students and scholars, as well as the society as a whole. The centre’s academic activities are also aligned with UN’s SDGs as how Bhartiya knowledge tradition with its value system may help in achieving them by 2030.
