Department of Applied Mathematics and Computational Science has organized National Science Day 2025 during 27 to 28 February 2025. The event was funded by MPCST Bhopal and NCSTC, DST New Delhi. The theme of the event was the empowerment of Indian youth for global leadership in science and innovation for developed India . The program has been started on 27th February with inaugral ceremony by Director of SGSITS Prof. Nitesh Purohit. After inaugral ceremony Director,chief guest,students and faculties of schools and colleges visited the exhibition based on mathematical models made by school and college students.
The convenor of the program was Dr. Rachna Navalakhe,Head of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Computational Science.The department organized various activities like Quiz competition, mathematical puzzle and fun games. On second day 28th February, mathematical model competition had been conducted and the winners of various competitions were awarded at the closing ceremony of the program on 28th February. In the model competition, the first prize at the school level was given to the Oxford Academy's defense Kushwaha, Tanishq Birla and Aryan Sangla for the use of mathematics in their parks. At the college level, the first prize was given to the students of Government Holkar Science College, Ambika Pal, Parth Adhikari and Lokesh Chauhan for their model hydro organic synonyms.
Director of SGSITS Prof. Nitesh Purohit appreciated the program saying, "These types of events not only help students to increase interest in science and mathematics, but it also provides them new direction in the field of innovation and research. It is our responsibility to inspire the coming generations for scientific thinking and innovation." This event proved to be an important step to motivate the students in the field of mathematics.
