SGSITS, is the only State Government Autonomous Engineering Institute of Madhya Pradesh which appeared in the top 200 list of NIRF Ranking of Government of India for the Year 2021. The Institute ranked 181 amongst all the engineering colleges of India. The India Rankings 2021 list was declared by Hon'ble Minister of Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Govt. of India, on September 9th 2021. Institute was ranked between 201-250 in NIRF 2020.

The institute offers Doctoral Programs (Ph.D.) in various Branches of Engineering, Applied Sciences, Pharmacy and Management; the researchers from all over the globe are welcome to join our Research Programs. The Institute is QIP Centre and Research centre in all the Disciplines for Ph.D. courses. Persistent efforts are being made to improve the quality of education through Ph.D. programs. 

The institute is recognized as a research centre by Rajiv Gandhi Technical University, Bhopal for Engineering, Applied Sciences and Pharmacy disciplines and Devi Ahilya University, Indore for Applied Sciences and Management.
