About Faculty: Prof. Girish Thakar obtained his B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering from SGSITS (DAVV), Indore in the year 1983. Subsequently, in 1984, he obtained Diploma in Marketing Management (DMM), where he stood fourth in merit. Later in the year 1988, he obtained his master’s degree from IIT Kanpur and PhD in 2011 from DAVV, Indore. He has guided about 75 PG students and 4 PhD students. He has published about 75 research articles in National-International Journals and Conferences and has a book chapter to his credit. He is the founder chairman of IIIE (Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering), Navi Mumbai and also a reviewer of Industrial Engineering journal. He has worked in the capacity of a member of many committees at the Institute level. He was also the Head of Department of Industrial and production Engineering Department for two years.

About Faculty: Dr Avadhesh Dalpati joined the department in 1995 as Lecturer in the institute. He is currently Professor and Head of the department, Earlier, he has been associated with Department of Management Studies (DOMS) as the HOD since its inception till 2020 in the Institute. He received his Master of Engineering in Industrial Engineering and Management from Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal. He has earned PhD degree from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in the area of supply chain management. He has about 25 years of teaching and research experience at SGSITS, Indore. He has the rich experience of administrative responsibilities such as Chief Warden - Hostels, Co-ordinator-PG Admissions, Member- Career Advancement Commtt. in the institute.He is member in editorial boards of reputed national and international journals. He has successfully guided 03 PhD scholars. He has published more than 50 research papers in various national and international journals and conferences.

He has earned PhD degree from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee from the department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering in the area of supply chain management. In 2007 Joined SGSITS as Assistant Professor & in 2021 did PhD from RGPV, Bhopal in Manufacturing.

He obtained his Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee. He has served as an Assistant Professor at NIT Bhopal and NIT Jalandhar. About Faculty: He is a faculty member here in the subject domains of industrial and production engineering, product design, and business/product analytics. He got awarded his doctorate of philosophy (PhD) degree in the research domain of 'design and development of new automotive model variants (NAMVs)' specifically related to the broad subject areas of 'New Product Design' and 'Product Analytics' from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur. He has his PG degree: Master of Engineering (ME) in the discipline of ‘Industrial and Production Engineering (IPE)’ with the specialization in Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) from Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science (SGSITS) Indore scoring 83.10% (First Division with Honours) and UG degree: Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in the core discipline of Mechanical Engineering from the University Institute of Technology (UIT) Bhopal scoring 75.50% (First Division with Honours). He taught in government and private academic institutions both on a regular basis and as a visiting faculty member also and worked as a TA instructor (at IIT Kharagpur) in the academic courses related to the disciplines of industrial engineering and operations management, manufacturing science, mechanical engineering, management science, and business analytics curriculums. He has an academic experience of nearly 3.5 years as a teaching experience and research and academic experience (along with working on NPTEL project) of 7 years 11 months at IIT Kharagpur with an overall regular experience of about 12 years. Apart from this, he was a visiting faculty at the National Institute of Technical Teachers' Training and Research (NITTTR) Bhopal to teach one of the courses – 'Supply Chain Management' at PG Level in the ME, Advanced Production Systems (APS) curriculum on a short-term basis. He was also an adjunct faculty at Centre for Research in Materials Management (CRIMM), Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM), Kolkata where he was assigned supervision of Fellow theses as a 'Junior Research Guide' for the 'Fellowship Program in Materials Management'. His research areas of interest are new product design, product analytics, mathematical modelling and design of supply chain contracts, coordination policies and advanced inventory systems, world-class manufacturing (WCM), design for industrial safety systems (SLC Model, IEC 61508 Safety Standard, SIS, HAZOP, HIRA), and safety analytics. He is an active professional member of European Operations Management Association (EurOMA), India Chapter of Production and Operations Management Society (POMS), Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering (IIIE: SM), Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI: LM), and Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE: LM). He actively participated and contributed as a member of these renowned professional societies. He got awarded with MHRD, Govt. of India, Institute Fellowship in the year 2013 (autumn session) towards the fulfilment of his degree of ‘Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD)’ at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur. He had been also nominated as the jury member at 29th, 30th, and 31st Chapter Conventions on Quality Concepts – CCQC 2016, CCQC 2017 and CCQC 2018 consecutively organized for the industry-based resource persons by Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI), Kolkata Chapter at Taj Bengal, Kolkata, as one of his professional accomplishments. His other professional accomplishments are getting full-funded institute grants by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur to internationally attend two of the best listed academic international conferences in his research domain – one of these, “Production and Operations Management Society (POMS) 28th Annual Meeting (POMS - 2017)” at Seattle, Washington State (WA; US), and another one, “25th Annual European Operations Management Association (EurOMA 2018) Conference” at Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Budapest (Hungary).
