PROGRAME OUTCOMES (POs) (B. Tech I Year)

PO
Graduates will be able to achieve:
 1 Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
 2 Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
 3 Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations
 4
Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

The engineer and society:: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

PROGRAME OUTCOMES (POs) for POST GRADUTE COURSE

 PO Post-Gradutes will  be able to achive :                                                       
1.  Critical Thinking: Inculcate critical thinking to carry out scientific investigation objectively. Formulate coherent arguments; critically evaluate practices, policies and theories by following scientific approach to knowledge development. Critically evaluate ideas, evidence and experiences from an open-minded and reasoned perspective.
2.

Knowledge Skill: Equip the student with skills to analyse problems, formulate a hypothesis, evaluate and validate results, and draw reasonable conclusions thereof. Capacity to extrapolate from what one has learned and apply their competencies to solve different kinds of non-familiar problems, rather than replicate curriculum content knowledge.

3.   Scientific Communication Skills: Imbibe effective scientific and / or technical communication in both oral and writing. Ability to show the importance of the subject as precursor to various scientific developments since the beginning of the civilization
4.  Ethics: Continue to acquire relevant knowledge and skills appropriate to professional activities and demonstrate highest standards of ethical issues in the subject concerned. Ability to identify unethical behaviour such as fabrication, falsification or misrepresentation of data and adoptive objective, unbiased and truthful actions in all aspects.
5.  Enlightened Citizenship: Create awareness to become an enlightened citizen with commitment to deliver one’s responsibilities within the scope of bestowed rights and privileges.
6  Analytical Reasoning: Ability to evaluate the reliability and relevance of evidence; identify logical flaws and holes in the arguments of others; analyse and synthesise data from a variety of sources; draw valid conclusions and support them with evidence and examples, and addressing opposing viewpoints.

Multicultural Competence: Development of a set of competencies in order to enhance and promote the growth of multicultural sensitivity within universities. Integrating multicul- tural awareness such as race, gender, physical ability, age, income and other social variables, and by creating an environment that is, “welcoming for all students”.

Lifelong Learning: Ability to think, acquire knowledge and skills through logical reasoning and to inculcate the habit of self-learning throughout life, through self- paced and self- directed learning aimed at personal development, and adapting to changing academic demands of work place through knowledge/ skill development/ reskilling.

9.  Leadership Qualities: Capability for mapping out the tasks of a team or an organization,

and setting direction, formulating an inspiring vision, building a team who can help achieve the vision, motivating and inspiring team members to engage with that vision, and using management skills to guide people to the right destination in a smooth and efficient way.

10.  Research Skills: Prepare students for pursuing research or careers in industry in concerned subject and allied fields. Capability to use appropriate software to solve various problems and to apply programming concepts of C, Python/FORTRAN to various scientific investigations,problem solving and interpretation.

 1. Our postgraduates are expected to think critically, creatively and apply the  fundamentals of applied chemistry, applied technology and engineering to chemical and allied industries, especially the Drugs and fine chemicals.
 2. Our postgraduates are expected to adopt  evolving technologies and forthcoming job profile.
 3. Our postgraduates are expected to be future ready according to the needs of the society and country.
 4. Our postgraduates are expected to work for implementation of new technologies for the benefit of society.
 5. Our postgraduates are expected to be innovative and have good entrepreneurship, communication, interpersonal and managerial skills.

PSO   Students of Applied Chemistry after acquiring Master of Science degree will be able to achive :
 1. Accelerate thinking skills with the sound objective of problem solving at the forefront, on the basis of exposure to the curriculum based knowledge of Applied chemistry.
 2. Explore global level research opportunities for doctoral and post-doctoral studies.
 3. Avail the benefit of enormous job avenues in different domains such as – academics, pharmaceutical industries, analytical laboratories, scientific organizations, entrepreneurship, administrative positions etc.
 4. Display their true potential and get appropriate endorsement through qualifying NET/GATE/SET/State Civil Services and other competitive examinations.
 5. Avail the opportunity to explore the knowledge of Applied Chemistry specially of Drug and Fine Chemicals, in particular knowledge and applications of synthetic methods and analytical techniques with specific orientation towards academia and industries .
