SGSITS, is the only State Government Autonomous Engineering Institute of Madhya Pradesh which appeared in the top 200 list of NIRF Ranking of Government of India for the Year 2021. The Institute ranked 181 amongst all the engineering colleges of India. The India Rankings 2021 list was declared by Hon'ble Minister of Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Govt. of India, on September 9^th 2021. Institute was ranked between 201-250 in NIRF 2020.

National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) is a project of MHRD initiated by seven Indian Institutes of Technology (Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Guwahati and Roorkee) along with the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 2003, to provide quality education to anyone interested in learning from the IITs. The main goal was to create web and video courses in all major branches of engineering and physical sciences at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and management courses at the postgraduate level.

HIGHLIGHTS:

Largest online repository in the world of courses in engineering, basic sciences, and selected humanities and social sciences subjects.

New: It is to inform that SWAYAM Board in its 23rd Meeting held on 25.09.2023 has approved 1247 Courses for January, 2024 Semester which include 234 new courses and 1013 Re-run courses. The list of these 1247 courses is given as per the URL given below which is also available at AICTE website:

Plagiarism Policy

Institute has well defined policy for plagiarism control. Following committees are constituted
at Department Level and Institute Level:

The similarity checks for plagiarism shall exclude the following:

All quoted work reproduced with all necessary permission and/or attribution.
All references, bibliography, table of content, preface and acknowledgements.
All generic terms, laws, standard symbols and standards equations.

Note: The research work carried out by the student, faculty, researcher and staff be based on original ideas, which shall include abstract, summary, hypothesis, observations, results, conclusions and recommendations only and shall not have any similarities. It shall exclude a common knowledge or coincidental terms, up to fourteen (14) consecutive words.

Levels of Plagiarism:

Plagiarism would be quantified into following levels in ascending order of severity for the purpose of its definition:

Level 0: Similarities up to 10%, 15% and 20% for Ph.D., P.G. and UG respectively - Minor similarities, no penalty
Level 1: Similarities above 10%, 15% and 20% to 40% for Ph.D., P.G. and UG respectively
Level 2: Similarities above 40% to 60%
Level 3: Similarities above 60%

Penalties in case of plagiarism in submission of thesis and dissertations

Institutional Academic Integrity Panel (IAIP) shall impose penalty considering the severity of the Plagiarism.

i. Level 0: Similarities up to 10% (15% and 20% for PG and UG respectively) - Minor Similarities, no penalty.

ii. Level 1: Similarities above 10% (15% and 20% for PG and UG respectively) up to 40% - Such student shall be asked to submit a revised script within a stipulated time period not exceeding 6 months.

iii. Level 2: Similarities above 40% and up to 60% - Such student shall be debarred from submitting a revised script for a period of one year. iv. Level 3: Similarities above 60% -Such student registration for that program shall be cancelled.
